Website Comparison
Above is the Apple Website with its simplistic tab selection, which allows users to easily navigate towards where they wish to go. It has helped Apple significantly to position their website such as this, because users want to be able to research and get insightful information on each product before making a decision. We can see above that Apple, still displays its newest products first, but still highlights old products by categorically placing them for consumers to easily navigate. Store, Mac, iPod, iPhone, iPad and iTunes are listed. No matter if the iPhone is displayed on the top page or not you can still easily access it by just clicking one single tab.
Samsung however, does not use this same approach. It seems that Samsung has its product scattered all over, from a perspective of the average consumer, who just wants to easily navigate and investigate a product they are considering buying. As we can see Samsung's tabs are: The Latest, TV&Video, Mobile, Photo, Computing and Home Appliances. When clicking one of these tabs the consumer is taken to other selective portions. The Galaxy S III is not even in sight when we view the website, many consumers probably will turn away or investigate into the Galaxy Note II as it is the "latest" product in Samsung's mobile arsenal.
It is true that Samsung has a more diverse and eclectic product line than that of Apple, but when it comes to setting up individual departments it fails to address each sector on a much more personal and simplistic level than Apple has already set up. Well you decide. Who did you think won this battle?
