A Clear Heading

We all know Google and we all know the different types of features that it is known for. Primarily one of its best functionality is its Maps application which seamlessly navigates the user to whichever destination they desire. Apple has tried to duplicate the greatness of such Maps, making their own version, but it completely when awry when many users upgraded their software to the newest version of  iOS (Apple's Operating Code Name Software). Users began to experience a high level of discomfort when the new integrated Maps from Apple completely lost them and could not allow them to navigate as easily as Google Maps did.

You see, Apple after its war with Samsung tried to eradicate all apps Google from its gadgets (iPhone, iPad) and thought they were innovative enough to meet a higher degree of consumer needs; WRONG! Many of the users left Apple for Google and for the Samsung Galaxy S III this year due to this option. Gone are the days when people look at traditional "book maps" anymore we are a technologically advanced society and our demands need to be met properly.

Samsung can thank Apple for failing in this department as it figuratively pushed consumers into the arms of its nemesis. In an article by Bandwidth Blog Theunis Rasenburg states "I have no doubt that Apple can catch up, but that could take years. That’s years of iPhone users forced into using an inferior product because Apple wants to limit Google’s access to iOS as much as possible. Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt recently spoke in Japan, and basically said that Apple would have to beg Google to release a version of its app on iOS. He further added “we think it would have been better if they had kept our app. But what do I know?”

However as of this week, Google Maps has return to Apple devices worldwide. Apple has figured that it just cannot compete in this department just yet, so it has begrudgingly accepted Google Maps back with unopened arms. Who knows how long this sort of partnership will last, Google is not one to be jerked around continuously  Could be that Apple only welcomed Maps to carefully analyze its methods and possibly duplicate a much more seamless approach. Who knows? What do you think, do you see this partnership lasting?

S3 beats Iphone5 as best gadget of 2012

Samsung S3 has been awarded the best gadget of 2012, beating Iphone5 in cnet review. The reason why CNET chose the S3 over Iphone5 was because of Iphones map app debacle. Reviewers were very disappointing in apples map app and if it werent for it, Apple would have taken first place. Despite the close dispute, S3 tops the list because of its big screen, great camera, and their new jelly bean operating system.

Inside The Premium Suite

With the impending update that Verizon will bring to its Galaxy S III users tomorrow, many are already enjoying another great upgrade that follows the Jelly Bean update. The links below will explain how Premium Suite which are a new set of features to your Galaxy S III will make up for the Jelly Bean OS upgrade delay. As I have said before many consumers are usually unaware of these features and are talked to death by Apple consumers (WOM) on how their product is better. With the videos that follow, Samsung is trying to construct a community of "Smart" consumers and bringing back the smart-phone term finally into existence. Why do you say that you may ask? Well it seems that the capability of all smart-phones is to anticipate the needs of their users, but what if the user does not now what capabilities the mobile device is truly capable of?  Making consumers aware of the features with the use of benefit segmentation to attract the niche market that is the "smart consumer" Samsung can built the community that has made Apple so popular amongst its customers.

Droid RAZR vs The Undisputed King

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE! In the latest ad campaign from Motorola and their flagship DROID RAZR HD, the mobile giant whose recent mobile division has been acquired by Google is picking a fight that it may not win. The image used to portray this suggests the Galaxy S3 only gets half signal bars while the Motorola RAZR enjoys full strength signal bars at any given time, but that is terribly misleading, no? For starters, location location, location that plays a bigger part in signal strength and download speeds over 4G LTE even if Motorola’s radios happen to be more solid than the ones Samsung use

It’s no surprise Motorola didn’t publish how it came about this particular result. The OEM could have tested the Galaxy S3 in a low coverage area, then proceeded to perform the same test on a RAZR MAXX HD in a full coverage area. We wouldn’t know that, of course, because Motorola is not required to tell us, but more power to them if they can get a few more sales out of it. And although Motorola’s image doesn’t show any branding, the simulated software image certainly suggests they’re comparing this to the version of the S3 that’s on the very carrier that has exclusive DROID RAZR MAXX HD is Verizon.

We can’t say what compelled Motorola to get a bit bolder in its marketing tactics, but we kind of like it. Even though the speed claims are a bit fishy they do have a couple of points over Samsung’s Galaxy S3. Sure, Samsung has another device that completely outclasses any of the RAZR devices, but the Samsung Galaxy S3 is still Samsung’s primary bread and butter and Motorola has no problem letting you know that it has a device that can stand toe to toe with it.
Opinions?

Inside The Rumor Mill

People love to gossip all over the world whether it be men or women, and apparently more men gossip about trivial matters more than women do. With the mobile field saturated with countless products one must wonder what would be the next big thing to beat them all out of the competition. The Galaxy S III surely has made its mark, but will the Galaxy S IV prove that it can surpass all of its predecessor's expectations. Earlier this week many Android fans rejoiced when they viewed leaked photos of a new Galaxy S IV phone leak online, sadly it was only a rumor. It was also preposterous that it will be launch this coming February right after the Super Bowl. Most of these tech nerds were composed of men, who gave in too much into their imaginative process. However it does not stem too far from what can actually be. Screens are getting bigger, and mobile phones are getting thinner. With Televisions now entering OLED (Organic-Light-Emitting-Diode) which will offer televisions at a slimmer size than their LED predecessors and counterparts, so are mobile devices. If the phone above is to resemble the Galaxy S IV, who do you think will be its target market? Samsung has focused its Galaxy S III on practically every consumer, usually a demographic ranging from 18-45 who are tech savvy enough to maneuver an Android device. No matter how slimmer, can Samsung position this confidently to reach a greater market share than iOS (Apple) ? Only time will tell.
