Sprint's BOGO

Recently I walked into a Sprint Store to pay my cancellation bill, and I noticed something that caught my eye.  The Samsung Galaxy S III is going for BUY ONE GET ONE FREE. The first thing that came to mind was "Am I still within the 30 day period to return this Galaxy S III to Verizon?" To my surprise the moment had passed, but it was interesting to see that this popular and costly phone was now being bundle in this matter. One tidbit of information about myself, is that I used to be a Sprint employee back in 2008, and many of our deals during the holiday season were geared at phones who were inexpensive and can easily be marketed to the psychographic profile many Sprint consumers seem to possess. These typical consumers want the highest of quality with little to no cost. Many of them can acquire mobile devices with just a Mexican Consular card which many other carriers did not have and would only need to pay a $125.00 deposit.

The high-end phones that we would provide at the time would only be BOGOHO (BUY ONE GET ONE 1/2 OFF).  It was a running joke with the phonetic spelling of the deal, but that is what usually would happened. It is good to see that Sprint is appealing in a psychographic approach to their consumers giving them the best bang for their buck. It seems that buy the beginning of next year I will see less iPhones and more SIII's you be the judge. Would you purchase the Galaxy SIII based on this option or just continue to go with another carrier based on the level of coverage that each possesses?

  1. This is a great deal. Especially for large families. I recently bought 5 smart phones but I did not get any one free. Phone companies are more open to offer deals during the Christmas season.
