If you haven't heard already many Sprint users have
finally began to enjoy their Jelly Bean update which as we have mentioned is an
upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S III adding features such as Google Now which
rival the iPhone's SIRI. Verizon is the next in line to get the update but
what's taking so long. Customers
of T-Mobile and Sprint in the US have been enjoying the update to Jelly Bean on
their Samsung Galaxy S3 for some time now. However this is not the same for
those with Verizon or AT&T. Samsung are perhaps shaking their heads in
disbelief that these carriers have yet to get the update out and they will not
be pleased as their record was tarnished in the past because of this (remember
the Samsung Galaxy S?).
This means that the
pressure is on for Verizon and AT&T to release the update to their
customers. Could Verizon or AT&T be hoping that customers will get fed up
of waiting and get a new device with the latest Android already installed?
After all, unlike other countries here in the US smartphones are more heavily
subsidized than elsewhere. Carriers would benefit from their subscribers paying
early upgrade fees.
As A Verizon Consumer
I can say that I am ticked off, but we will see if this is only a delay to
surprise us all on Christmas.
