The first spike in sales was during Samsungs 1.05 billion dollar payment awarded to Apple. After, much attention from the general media developed with consumers saying that the Samsung device was just another option for mobil phone devices. The second spike in sales was during the announcement of the IPhone. Hundreds of reviews again made comparisons of the phone. Most suggesting that both phones are similarly compatible. And although consumers waited to see the IPhone before making their final decision, sales grew 9% week-over-week.
In conclusion, Samsung was able to gain some attention from Galaxy S3 fans and consumers. although they lost in court their product still remains a leading contender in the Mobile market.

My guess is that both spikes in sales was out of consumers' curiosity. They want to compare and see what's the difference between the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3. There might even be people who bought both devices to make the comparison. The competition between the two phones are neck to neck. However, since I am a loyal fan of the iPhone, I will choose the iPhone 5 over the Galaxy S3.
