Samsung discounts S3 in Malaysia!

Inspired by an olympic  performance, Samsung held a surprising promotion in celebration of Dutak Lee Chong Wei's win for Malaysia in the Summer 2012 Olympics.  For Malaysia, this was like a double whammy.  A silver metal and 10% discount on one of the baddest phones on earth.

Today, You might recognize him on the cover of a brand new Yonex racket.  But not to far long ago and six consecutive silver olympic titles later,  Wei has since then, Badminted his way to becoming Malaysia's most famous athlete.

Head of Mobil Phone Division at Samsung Malaysia Electronics, Vincent Chong praised Wei's 2012 olympic performance.  He used words such as excellent sportsmanship and rare determination in a statement he made about how proud Samsung was to have Wei as their brand ambassador.

The promotion which was 10% discount lasted only one day.  there was a limit of only one phone per customer.  And, could be sold in only Samsung Partner Elite Brand Shops.

Way to go Samung, you guys never seem to surprise me.  I personally do not follow Wei or Badmitton, but it does sound like a touching market strategy for the Galaxy S3.  I think you won the hearts and minds of Malaysians across the nation.  And I also found it on the internet, so I was able to make this topic my homework.

What do you think friends?  Next time we have famous olympians when metals for us, a big American company as big as Samsung should discount something for us.
